Reproaction Continues to Call Out Fake Clinics

If you’ve been following Reproaction’s work then you already know we like to call out crisis pregnancy centers and expose them for the shady, anti-abortion fake clinics they are. On April 12, we finally got the chance to expose fake clinics in Kansas City, MO. Rachel’s House Pregnancy Resource Center is located inside a shopping center in a community primarily comprised mostly of poor Black people. Although anti-abortion fake clinics like Rachel’s House may reach out to Black people with their misleading information, they do nothing to address Missouri’s alarming Black maternal mortality rates.

Missouri is on par with the national average when it comes to its maternal mortality rate. In fact, the racial disparity is also the same where Black women are 3 to 4 times more likely to die from pregnancy complications than white women. In Missouri, these fake clinics have received increased government funding in the past two years. All the while, six hospitals have closed in the state, and comprehensive women’s health providers are struggling to keep their doors open. That’s just not right.

Our Kansas City direct action was a part of a week of events and actions that Reproaction put together in support of Black Maternal Health Week designated by Black Mamas Matter Alliance.
