Anti-abortion pregnancy centers misleadingly represent themselves as comprehensive reproductive health care clinics, but they exist to dissuade people from having abortions. These centers not only deceive patients seeking abortion care, but many also endanger patient data privacy, misuse public funds, and spread dangerous disinformation about abortion and contraception. Abortion advocates have been sounding the alarm bells about these deceptive centers— running bus ads outside anti-abortion pregnancy centers, publishing a database of the over 2,000 anti-abortion pregnancy centers in the U.S., and exposing their shady health care practices, to name a few. But there’s another amazing strategy unfolding: pro-abortion organizations that provide low-to-no-cost material resources, parenting support, and reproductive health care without a hidden agenda.
