#MeToo: A Reckoning
The past several months have been a whirlwind of allegations of sexual misconduct, sexual assault, and molestation against prominent people from Hollywood to Capitol Hill to major news organizations. These allegations must be taken seriously and survivors must be supported.
However, some conservatives are framing these assault allegations as a problem solely within progressive spaces. Abuse in the workplace is not central to one industry or viewpoint. It is a rampant issue that is finally getting some light shed upon it and this reckoning has been a long time coming.
This webinar will discuss the #MeToo movement, founded by Tarana Burke. We will examine how and why the floodgates opened in 2017 and how to fight for justice moving forward.
Confirmed speakers include:
- Sarah Seltzer, journalist, essayist, and fiction writer
