Stop Prosecuting Abortion

‘Pro-life’ leaders want to make abortion illegal. Still, some will claim they do not want women to be punished for having abortions. But people are already being punished in the United States when they self-manage their own abortions. One notable case occurred in 2015 in Indiana. Purvi Patel was sentenced to 20 years in prison for self-managing her own abortion. While her sentence was eventually reduced, ‘pro-life’ leaders are trying to avoid having a conversation on the prosecution of abortion. They cannot stay silent anymore.
