Taking Action on Maternal and Infant Mortality

Despite spending more on healthcare per capita than any other country in the world, maternal and infant mortality rates in the United States are worse than countries like Uzbekistan and Vietnam that lack a modern healthcare infrastructure. Our federal and state governments are working diligently to cut healthcare access; cuts that disproportionately affect women and children. Reproductive justice advocates throughout the nation are working in a very hostile political climate to address maternal and infant mortality rates. This webinar is an opportunity for you to learn what a few of them are doing.

Our guest panelists include:

  • Marsha Jones, Co-founder/Executive Director of The Afiya Center
  • Joia Crear-Perry, Founder and President of the National Birth Equity Collaborative
  • Robert Turner, Project Management Coordinator for Bootheel Babies and Families in Southeast Missouri

Reproaction’s Missouri organizer, Evonnia Woods, will also profile our ongoing Maternal and Infant Mortality Campaign.
